Message from our NSA-NT President: March 2022
I had lunch with NSA North Texas Member and CSP, Michael Hoffman a few years ago and he asked me a very challenging question which I thought was an eye opener. Do you have the mobile numbers of you closest customers? Do you know the names of their kids? Do you know their birthdays? Obviously, my answer was no. Michael focuses on outrageous customer service and as I thought about it, our goal should be to build those type of relationships whether it’s delivering a keynote, training, coaching or any other delivery method where we are leading a group of employees with an existing or new customer.
We have the opportunity to be a long-term partner with that customer if you focus on a few key objectives. We make their life easy for our event, we follow up continually, we’re proactive on ideas, and most of all we under promise and over deliver. I don’t know about you, but for every time someone performed a service for us and wowed us with their service, they became our long-term go to person, and we referred them to every friend we knew. It’s the same with our customers and prospects that hire us to speak. It’s a privilege to serve our customers and nothing is more satisfying than a customer that walks away from their experience with us, extremely pleased. That’s what we live for! If you look at all your customers you’ve delivered to over the years, you will see that a majority of them came from referrals. Everyone is looking for great service and performance.
As you build your customer base this year, remember that your performance is more than the content you deliver. It’s the total experience!
