Message from our NSA-NT President: A New Year!
A new year with new opportunities to grow your business, fine tune your message and improve your delivery. We’ve all experienced nearly two years’ worth of challenges with Covid, and I know we would all like to finally see it dissipate. One thing we know for sure, life and business is full of surprises, and we need to adjust accordingly.
I’m excited for our Open House at the Hilton Garden Inn on Sunday January 30th from 3-5pm. This FREE event is for our members and guests that are interested in finding out more about the speaking business and NSA North Texas. We have an All-Star panel that will be interviewed by our very own TV commentator Niki McCuistion. Our panel will be Betty Garrett President/CEO of the Garrett Speakers International, Michael Hoffman, CSP, Linda Swindling, CSP and Christine Cashen, CPAE. This panel will give us a variety of perspectives on the speaking business and where they see it going in the future. We welcome all and hope you are comfortable coming in person. If not, we will, as always, be virtually streaming the meeting. Please invite your friends who speak, or want to speak for their business.
All members and associates in our chapter should have received a holiday card in the mail that included a magnet with our speaker line up for the next six months. We are looking forward to having Patrick Allmond this month along with our Labs led by Yoram Solomon, CPAE Spotlights with Niki McCuistion and our ongoing Speaker Specialty Training Track led by Elizabeth McCormick which is a two-year program heading into it’s 4th specialty track.
The beginning of our new year is a time of opportunity. Many companies are having kick-off meetings this month, and many are planning their year out for speakers, training and other events needed to bolster employees. Many events are still virtual, and I’ve seen a trend lately where companies have decided to go to regional meetings. The good news there is more meetings and more speaking opportunities.
